Terms of use and participation for "Meine TK" valid until 30 November 2024
Participation in "Meine TK" is subject to the following terms of participation. Please read these carefully before using "Meine TK". With this declaration of participation, you are agreeing to the terms of participation. The standard terms and conditions of use for the TK website also apply.
Please Note:
With effect from 1 December 2024, we will be changing our terms of use for "Meine TK"
1. Authorised users
"Meine TK" is a comprehensive and free information and service offering. It is available to TK insurees aged 16 and over. The following groups of people are excluded from using "Meine TK":
- members who are only insured for long-term care
- members who receive benefits in accordance with Section 264, Para. 1 of the German Social Security Code, Book V
- members who only pay their pension and unemployment insurance contributions to TK
- members who receive benefits under the German Federal War Victims Relief Act (BVG)
- members who receive benefit assistance from TK within the framework of a social insurance agreement with other countries
- members who are insured as a welfare recipient receiving benefits
- members who receive care support allowance
- those who are still in the process of applying for membership
2. Registration and authentication
Authorised insurees can register online to use "Meine TK" using a verified e-mail address that is also required for further use of "Meine TK". As part of the registration process, a verification e-mail will be sent by TK to the e-mail address provided. This e-mail contains a hyperlink that you must use to confirm the accuracy of your e-mail address.
You can choose from various methods of identification during the registration process. You can:
- have a personal activation code sent by post to your address
- go to a TK customer service centre with your smartphone
- carry out an automatic identification procedure online
It is also possible to register using a one-time password. You must request this password from TK and it will then be sent to you by post. The registration process must be completed within 60 days if you use the activation code sent by post, and within 48 hours if you use the online ID procedure.
You can log in to "Meine TK" using your insurance number or your username and your personal password. You choose the password when you register for "Meine TK".
Some of the "Meine TK" services (e.g. "Postfach" (mailbox), "Meine Vorgänge" (my processes), "Adress- oder Namensänderung" (change of name or address)) also require additional special authentication after you have logged in to "Meine TK". You can authorise yourself by entering a one-time-use transaction number that is sent to you via a mobile device (e.g., mobile phone) (smsTAN).
The activation code for registration, the personal password and the smsTAN must be kept secret and protected from being accessed by others.
3. Important information on using the "Postfach" (mailbox)
TK offers users registered with "Meine TK" a "mailbox" as part of the "Meine TK" service. The "mailbox" allows users to communicate electronically with TK. To authenticate users, the smsTAN procedure must be activated to use the mailbox.
Registering for the "mailbox" is voluntary. It is not a mandatory requirement for participating in "Meine TK".
By agreeing to use the "mailbox" and separately consenting to receive online letters, you agree that letters and messages from TK, in particular administrative acts (e.g., notifications regarding the granting or rejection of a benefit), can be disclosed to you by making them available in your "mailbox".
We will send a notification to your verified e-mail address when electronic administrative files or other messages are made available in your "mailbox". Please note that electronic administrative files and messages that are provided for retrieval, for which this is provided by law, are deemed to have been made available on the third day after the electronic notification has been sent.
By consenting to receiving letters online, you also agree to receive general messages and information about TK as messages in the "mailbox". If so wished, reminders associated with a reminder service can also be sent there. You can terminate your consent to receiving letters online in the "mailbox" at any time with effect for the future by cancelling the service in "Meine TK" or by calling TK. Terminating your participation in online letter receipt will not terminate your participation in "Meine TK" or the "mailbox".
Regardless of whether you have your letters sent online, you will receive notifications in your "Meine TK" mailbox about information that you have submitted to TK online via "Meine TK". These are sent to your sent folder and displayed for six months. You can delete the notifications at any time.
Messages are generally displayed in the "mailbox" for 6 months, in individual cases for up to 2 years.
You can print messages or save them to your end device.
The "mailbox" can be used to send messages to TK.
4. "TK-Chat"
TK offers users registered with "Meine TK" a personalised "TK-Chat" service to provide them with tailored advice and answer their personal questions. The TK customer advisors have access to your customer data. This chat service is free to use. The contributions are in no way a substitute for individual, personalised advice from a TK customer advisor. No legally binding assurances of services or benefits or other legally binding declarations by TK or the user can be given via this channel. Information on medical matters can also not be given via this chat.
"TK-Chat" may not be used by the user for advertising or other irrelevant content. TK will not respond to any posts in the personalised "TK-Chat" that violate the criminal and press law provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany, common decency, good manners and polite behaviour. TK reserves the right to block users from participating in the "TK-Chat" service.
Please also refer to TK's Data Protection Policy for further information on data protection within the scope of "TK-Chat".
5. Confirmation of receipt for online processes
TK offers users registered with "Meine TK" a process tracking function. This shows the data received and/or the processing status of their customised online process. Users also receive a confirmation e-mail after the online process has been completed.
6. Resetting the password
You can reset your chosen password in "Meine TK". An e-mail with an activation link will be sent to your verified e-mail address to identify you. It contains a hyperlink that you can use to reset your password.
7. Duties of care and
co-operation/exclusion of liability
An important security measure when using "Meine TK" is your personal password. To prevent unauthorised third parties from accessing your data, exit "Meine TK" using the logout button if you do not wish to close the browser.
You must ensure that no unauthorised third party gains possession of the password. In the event of a breach of this duty of care, TK accepts no liability for any resulting damage.
8. Safety information and blocking of access
TK is entitled to block and delete access to "Meine TK" if this service is used contrary to these terms of use or in the event of unauthorised access. This also includes attempted use by unauthorised users as per Sections 1 and 2.
To protect against unauthorised use by third parties, TK sends an e-mail to your verified address when you attempt to carry out security-relevant processes (e.g., if you wish to change your password).
If you suspect that your password, activation code or smsTAN are known to someone without authorisation or are being used without authorisation, you must inform TK immediately by calling +49 40 - 46 06 62 53 00 or by sending an e-mail to service@tk.de. TK will then block access to "Meine TK".
For security reasons, TK will automatically block access if an attempt is made to log in with too many failed attempts in succession, with an incorrect activation code or an incorrect password or smsTAN. Please note that you must be able to access and participate in "Meine TK" to use the TK-App and third-party services for which access is enabled via the TK-App. If access to "Meine TK" is blocked, access to these services is also no longer possible. You can reactivate access to "Meine TK" by entering a new personal activation code or confirming an activation link sent to your verified e-mail address.
9. Termination of access
You can cancel your participation in "Meine TK" online or by calling +49 40 - 46 06 62 53 00. If you cancel your participation in "Meine TK", you can also no longer use the "mailbox."
Please note that by terminating your participation in "Meine TK", you will also lose access to the TK-App and other personalised functions from third-party providers that require access via "Meine TK" (e.g., TK-Doc, eCoaches).
