1. What is "Meine TK"
"Meine TK" is a German-language protected personalised area via which TK provides an extended and free range of information and services online. Registration and access to "Meine TK" are prerequisites for using the TK-App as well as other TK and third-party services for which personalised access is required.
2. Authorisation for use
"Meine TK" is available to TK insurees aged 15 and above. The following groups of people are excluded from using "Meine TK":
members who are only insured for long-term care
members who receive benefits in accordance with Section 264 of the German Social Security Code, Book V
members who only pay their pension and unemployment insurance contributions to TK
members who receive benefits in accordance with the German Social Security Code, Book XIV
members who receive benefit assistance from TK within the framework of a social insurance agreement with other countries
members who receive care support allowance
those who are still in the process of applying for membership
Individual services both within "Meine TK" and those to which access is granted via "Meine TK" may have further conditions of use. If these result in you being excluded from using these services, you will be notified accordingly when accessing these services.
3. Registration and authentication
Insurees who are authorised to use "Meine TK" may register to use this service with an e-mail address that is also required for further use of "Meine TK". This e-mail address must be verified and the verified e-mail address must always be kept up to date.
You can select various methods for initial authentication during the registration process.
You can log in to "Meine TK" with your insurance number or your username and your personal password. You specify the password when you register for "Meine TK".
Individual services both within "Meine TK " or those to which access is granted via "Meine TK" (e.g., the "Postfach" (mailbox), "Meine Vorgänge" (my processes), change of address or name) require additional special authentication even after logging in to "Meine TK".
Answers in German to questions about registration and authentication can be found in the FAQs for "Meine TK".
4. The user's duties of care and co-operation
An important security measure when using "Meine TK" is your personal password. To prevent unauthorised third parties from accessing your data, exit "Meine TK" using the logout button if you are using an end device to which third parties could also have access.
You must ensure that no unauthorised third party gains possession of the password or other means of identification which allows access to "Meine TK". If unauthorised third parties gain access to your password or other means of identification, it is generally not possible for TK to prevent misuse of your access and avert damage.:
5. Safety instructions and blocking of access
TK is entitled to block and delete access to "Meine TK" if this service is used contrary to these terms of use or other legal requirements as well as in the event of unauthorised access. This also includes attempted use by unauthorised users as per Section 2.
If you suspect that your password or other means of identification are known to someone without authorisation or are being used without authorisation, you must inform TK immediately by calling 0800 - 285 85 85 (toll-free within Germany) or by sending an e-mail to service@tk.de. TK will then block access to "Meine TK".
For security reasons, TK will automatically block access if an attempt is made to log in with too many consecutive failed attempts using an incorrect means of identification.
Please note that the use of "Meine TK" is a prerequisite for using the TK-App and third-party services that can be accessed via the TK-App. If access to "Meine TK" is blocked, access to these services is also no longer possible. In this case, this can only be reopened through a separate activation process.
6. Termination of access
You can cancel your participation in "Meine TK" online or by calling 0800 - 285 85 85 (toll-free within Germany).
Please note that by terminating your participation in "Meine TK", you will also lose access to the TK-App and other personalised services that require access via "Meine TK" (e.g., TK-Doc, eCoaches, mailbox).
7. Reservation of right of amendment
TK will notify you of any changes to the terms of use in a clear and unambiguous manner. If your consent is legally required, the changes will take effect immediately after they have been accepted by you, but no earlier than the date specified in the notification. If you do not agree, TK has the right to terminate the agreement on the use of "Meine TK" with a notice period of 28 calendar days after notification.
TK is authorised to amend these terms of use without obtaining your consent provided that, for example, legal requirements, technical changes or additional services are implemented or introduced that do not require your consent.
If such a change affects the mutual benefits of the parties, TK's unilateral right to change only exists if the change is reasonable for you, taking your interests into account.
Such a right to unilateral changes to the terms of use therefore exists in particular if:
a) the change to the terms of use only offers advantages for you;
b) the change only relates to new functions, services or parts of services and the change does not affect the valid service and contractual relationship;
c) the change is necessary to implement applicable legal requirements (e.g., in the event of a change in the applicable legal situation) and the change has only insignificant adverse effects on you; or
d) TK thereby complies with an official decision or a court judgement that is binding on it and the amendment has only insignificant adverse effects on you.
