If you are over 18 when you start treatment, we will only cover the costs if you have a severe jaw abnormality and require jaw surgery at the same time.
More details
Severe jaw abnormalities include
- congenital malformations of the face and jaw such as a cleft lip, jaw and palate
- incorrect tooth positioning caused by misalignment of the upper or lower jaw (skeletal dysgnathia), or
- jaw misalignment caused by injuries
which are assigned to an orthodontic indication group of at least KIG B4, D4, K4, M4, A5 or O5 and require orthodontic surgery. Please consult your orthodontist or orthopaedic surgeon to find out whether you come under any of these categories.
If the medical requirements are fulfilled, your orthodontist will send us a treatment plan for further review. If applicable, please send us the orthodontic surgery report - either as message to TK via Meine TK or by post:
